Anxiety and Depression are Triggered by Environment, learn how to live clean on all levels!

Anxiety and Depression Triggered by Environment can be challenging to cope with.

While there can be biochemical imbalances that are factors in these mental and emotional illnesses, there are some environmental triggers that can give rise to nervous anxiety and debilitating depression in people, including but not limited to the music they listen to.

There are studies that link anxiety to a learned response, one in which people are taught to fear situations, people, places, and objects.

Depression has also been linked to a learned response. In addition there are some theories suggesting that anxiety and/or depression stems from an unconscious conflict, or perhaps a physical or emotional trauma that happened to the victim as a child. Whatever the study or theory, anxiety and depression are triggered by environments, both can be mere reactions to that which is outside of ourselves; rather than focusing on inner peace.

You may have had a life event, such as the loss of a loved one, a divorce, or disruptive changes in the work or home, trigger depression. You may have specific fears that trigger anxiety because you have lost your natural ability to trust either due to environmental or other life conditions. While you cannot change the environment outside of you, you can change how you perceive them, and how you may be impacted by them.

One helpful tool is to believe that you are bigger than the fear, meaning you have the ability to overcome the perceived loss, the divorce, the disruption, etc. To believe this is in alignment with the truth of you. You are infinitely powerful and therefore bigger than any of these environmental triggers, problems, etc. The love of self makes you even greater than anxiety and depression.

When you meditate on that, and really feel the truth of it, you are calm and at peace. You may even feel a shift in your body as you recognize that truth. The more you meditate on feeling that truth in your body, the stronger that truth is ingrained in you, and the easier it becomes to cope with these challenges. Anxiety and depression are simply names for strong feelings; but these feelings are not stronger than you.

Another helpful tool is to increase and expand your emotional body. When your emotional capacity is huge, that is how much “space” you have in your emotional body is vast, the negative feelings that contribute to the anxiety and depression become smaller than the positive, joyful feelings. By encompassing all these feelings at once, it becomes clear that the “good” feelings are much more powerful than the “bad” feelings.

You can do this by meditating on the space an arm’s length above your head. The more you feel this space an arm’s length above your head, the more expansive this space becomes, and the vaster your emotional capacity grows, allowing you the experience you need.

Anxiety and depression triggered by environment, need not be debilitating. I have given you many tools to help you in the midst of these, and can help you with this process. Remembering you have infinite joy within you, will free you from any and all anxiety and depression triggered by any environment you find yourself in!
