What are you listening to. Learn more about how Music affects emotions, is your music hurting you or helping you? |
|
|
There are many researchers who
claim that music, as well as the
media and your
environment can affect the physical body by
reducing stress, lowering
blood pressure, lower levels of cortisol (associated with stress), increase
levels of melatonin (induces sleep), and precipitates the release of endorphins
(body’s natural painkiller). However, researchers have yet to explain why and
how music affects our emotions, and emotional body. Music can help bring about positive changes in mood and emotional states with the right kind of melodies and words. Listening to a happy, upbeat melody with lyrics that are positive are useful when you are feeling lethargic and sad, just as listening to angry, sharp music with negative lyrics can transform your original happy state into an angry, depressed one. |

Scary music will, along with a
scary movies, evoke fear and can, in fact, have
damaging effects
such as creating a
lack of trust and numbing your emotions and thus, the emotional body.
For instance, if
you are feeling sad, and have suffered from some kind of loss,
you may want to choose music which contains sad lyrics about
losing someone special because it resonates. However, that is
not the type of support you need. You need music that will
support your
healing from the sadness and then transforming your
sadness into happiness. Choosing music to synchronize with
your sad, angry, or depressed state, only serves to perpetuate
that state, and usually puts you into
victim consciousness. That
is most certainly where you do not want to be. Pam has helped many individuals in making the right choices for self. You can listen to how she can assist you and remember; music affects your emotions, so what matters is you choose whatever is best for you and fuels your joy! |
